Randolph G. Richmond, MBA, CFP ®, AIF ®

Randy is a Principal of Crosswind Strategies. He has been an Associate Vice President with Merrill Lynch and Vice President Investments with Wachovia Securities. Prior to his association with the financial services industry, he has served as a senior executive at IBM’s Data Processing Division and at Pfizer, where he was Vice President and General Manager of the Medical Instruments division. After Pfizer, Randy was the CEO of several computer software companies. He has extensive start-up and turnaround experience and took substantial investment positions in his ventures. Randy’s industry contributions include the pioneering of medical imaging technology, advanced point-of-sale systems for retail chains, wireless devices in restaurants, and enterprise-wide manufacturing software.
Mr. Richmond serves on several corporate and charitable boards of directors. He earned a B.S. (EE) Degree from the University of Colorado and an MBA from Arizona State University. Randy is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) practitioner, a professional group who has met the education, examination, experience and ethics standard established by the National CFP® Board of Standards. He is also an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) Designee, having completed a rigorous training program and examination on investment fiduciary standards of care. Conformance to a strict code of ethics and adherence to annual continuing education requirements is an integral part of maintaining both designations.
Randy has competed for years at a high level in sailing-yacht ocean racing on both coasts. He and two brothers own and operate a cattle ranch on Oregon’s west coast where he grew up. Randy resides in Poway, California with Liz, is wife of 40 years. They have two children and four grandchildren.
